Obituary

Obituary for Cesia Catalina Miranda

Cesia Catalina Miranda, age 29, passed away on February 7th 2021 after her long battle with Leukemia. Her final hours were spent surrounded by her loving family as she was peacefully taken into heaven and granted her wings. Cesia was born on July 24, 1991 in Silver Spring, MD. She was an incredibly devoted teacher at The Goddard School, continuing her schooling in Early Education and using her free time to create teaching materials and decorations for the classroom. She loved being with her school children and continued to reminisce about teaching all through her treatment.

Cesia was a member of the church Iglesia Evangéliva Cimiento de Dios, where she loved singing with the congregation and her father; she also dedicating her weekends to teaching Sunday school.

While her battle with cancer may have weakened her body, her hope and courage knew no bounds. She was incredibly full of life until the very end, always making everyone laugh, spreading her joy, and keeping faith. She loved her family unconditionally and was a devoted sister and daughter. She will forever be remembered as the carefree, positive, inspiring woman she was, with the infectious laugh that made all her friends and family smile.

Cesia is survived by her mother, Olga Marina Miranda, her father, Marcos Noel Miranda, and her brother, Abner Abisai Miranda. Her family would like to deeply thank all those who have stood by their side and held Cesia’s hand through her journey and healing.

Cesia was a beautiful soul and my best friend in elementary school. We ate lunch together, played during recess, told each other everything. We grew apart but there hasn’t been a day where I didn’t think of her. I love her and her family so much. Her light will live on forever..

To the family of Ms. Miranda, My thoughts and prayers are with you, for strength, healing, and comfort that only our Lord can grant. Ms. Miranda welcomed my son on his first day at school into her class last year. She made his first day special and I am forever grateful. We are honored to have been touched by her kindness and nurturing spirit. She has touched many. We are so sorry for your loss and will continue to keep you in prayer. With our deepest sympathy.
